Dust Sensors

Introduction

In order to measure air pollution dust sensors play an important role. They are often based on an optical system where light, scattered on dust particles is measured. I have 3 different sensors which should allow me to compare results:

• Plantower PMS5003. I found 2 manuals for this sensor:
  • PMS5003 data sheet
  • PMS5003 air quality sensor experiment

• The Shinyei PPD42NS
  • Shinyei PPD42NS product specification
  • Deconstruction of the Shinyei PPD42NS dust sensor
  • Paper: Test of Particle Sensor (PPD42NS, Shinyei)

• The Sharp GP2Y1010AU0F
  • GP2Y1010AU0F data sheet
  • GP2Y1010AU0F application note

Software

Drivers and test software for the above dust sensors can be found at https://github.com/uraich/dust-sensors
