---+ The heart beat monitor This consists of an LED and a photocell. If you put your finger in between the LED and the photocell the you can observe small variations in the light received on the photo cell due to the change of blood colour when new oxygenated (lighter) blood is pumped into your body. Of course we need high resolution analogue to digital conversion to see this effect on the photo cell signal.
